After the qualification of a Doctorate Degree comes a Post-Doctoral Program. Any person who holds a Doctoral Degree can apply for a further 2-3 years of post-doctoral research by Distance/Online mode. Once the completion of the study the post-doctoral researcher will be awarded a Post Doctorate Degree.

The program is specially designed for the applicants to conduct in-depth research in their area of study. The Degree thesis must contribute to the existing body of knowledge and must be passed by external examiners. However, part of the thesis must also be accepted for publications an article in a refereed journal at the end of the student's candidacy.

Before conducting the research students must pass PRGM 8000 Post-Graduate Research Methods and Analysis. However, students can consult their supervisors through emails and can commence their study in the middle month of January, May, or September of every year.

INTERNAL EXAMINATION OF THE DISSERTATION -

Once the dissertation is submitted to the university, they will appoint 2 of its own professors to examine the dissertation and make a recommendation as to whether the dissertation should be -

To be accepted without modifications
Be accepted with some modifications
Be accepted with major modifications
Be rejected and classified as failed.

If in case the result of the examination is not satisfactory to the candidate, the applicant for the dissertation is to be re-examined by another two internal examiners.

EXTERNAL EXAMINATION OF THE DISSERTATION

If the dissertation is accepted for the doctorate degree, the next procedure is examining the worth of the doctorate study to have at least one paper from the findings of the study accepted for publication in refereed conference proceedings, refereed journals in refereed research books. If such a requirement is not fulfilled the candidate is advised to consult a supervisor.

Once the candidate fulfils the above examination criteria it shall be recommended by the Academic Board to the Senate Council that the candidate is qualified to be admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
